Achiever's Attitude - 7.5.09
Mark 11:23-24 That whosoever shall SAY to this mountain - be thou removed and cast in the sea and shall not doubt in his heart - he shall have whatsoever he saith!
Whosoever - and a whatsoever in the same verse - That's powerful.
We can have whatsoever we SAY - now there's some faith involved here.
To SAY before we HAVE. Notice we're NOT SAYING something ISN'T - we're calling what "isn't" as thou it already WAS.
Rom 4:17 - Talks about, "Calling things that BE NOT as they ALREADY WERE!"
Lk 17:6 And Jesus said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
What are some of the things that need to be PLUCKED UP by the root -
Attitudes that need to be overcome Actions that need to be overcome
- Selfishness Addictions sexual, drug, alcohol - all destructive
- Complacency Carelessness nothing to live for
- Apathy
I know it's not easy facing all these issues in life - because it takes strength and courage.
But look what the Word says here -
2 Chro 15:7 Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded. Your "actions" will be rewarded!
Jos 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
The good news is that if we can only have FAITH that SAYS - we will be rewarded for those actions.... Look here - we will be BLESSED if we will only trust in the LORD.
Jer 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Even when times get tough when we don't think we can make it through all of those rough times in our lives - God reminds us that IF we can ONLY BLIEVE - All things are possible.
Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Rom 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations (areas of distress and trouble) also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Paul was in a bad place in his life and things weren't going right - but he knew if he would 'say' the right things he could/would change those circumstances. Don't we/you need to do the same thing?
Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Paul also says here in Hebrews....
Heb 10:35-36 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
That promise is that God wants us blessed beyond our wildest dreams - but what about those dreams of ours that can turn into nightmares?
How about the times when things are rough and tough - not going our way - our personal relationships are on the rocks or we wished they were because we just can't fix some of the issues.
And those relationships are all kinds - boyfriends & girlfriends - with our parents - with our children - with those we work with - Just all kinds of relationships.
Even though David had more than a series of bad situations in his life - his personal life was falling apart - his own children were out of control - he was out of control - even taking another man's wife and having him killed just to cover it up.
While he was still in the midst of all this, he was able to reach out his faith for other people, and DO the right things for others
Ps 112:5-7 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved (or troubled) for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
What about you?
Your situation might not be like that of David's - so it'd be easy for you to step out in FAITH and SPEAK OUT for those who really have needs in their lives. It should be easy for you to be generous with your time and finances - and even more - your love, prayers and attention.
Start to use the WORD of GOD to change the circumstances around you -and if you can't / don't want to for yourself - how about those around you like David did.
